I felt the same as you about starting college but the thing to bear in mind is that everyone else is in the same boat of not knowing anyone at the beginning. I've never been good with new people/making friends either but made loads on my first day! And after months of feeling all anxious about it!

I was going to comment on your Australian frustration, but I didn't know which diary you were. (I'm so new, I'm green.) Anyway, I find it, and your last diary entry is In the End, Never Really Matters, and I had JUST selected In The End by Linkin Park to listen to as I tried to find your diary. Whoa. Weird. ANYWAY, I know what you mean about stereotpes, especially the linguistics. I get inappropriate sayin all the time! (Similar to the "shrimp" thing, I guess.)
