hm, about that burn.. if it's not really really deep into the carpet, you could try snipping off the top layer of it with scissors? thats the only thing i could think of.. it worked when a guinea pig pooped on my carpet in 6th grade haha. but then again, a burn's very different.. so good luck!! :)
